Ive always had a problem with back to the future 3. My problem has been that there are two time machines in 1885. Theres the one Doc leaves for Marty and theres the one Marty comes back in. Ive always wondered why they didnt just take the petrol from the one Doc buried, to replace the petrol Marty lost. Today at work a colleague and I discussed back to the future, I brought up my point. To my surprise he was actually able to answer it. He explained that you have to drain the tank of any car you put in to storage, Doc would have drained the tank in fear of any accidents. Even if he hadnt drained it, he would not have wanted to re-enter the cave in 1885, in case anything he did prevented Marty from getting the time machine in 1955. Though neither of us could explain why Doc had a problem with Marty having the almanac, but not with him keeping the hoverboard.
