Ive been a (vintage) Volkswagen lover my entire life. Ive had the motor out of my beetle more times than I want to count. As as teenager I spent my last dollars fixing it....ugh. But I wouldnt change a thing. Of course growing up and having a 1960 model VW beetle as my ONLY transportation, it made me learn a lot about cars at a very young age. I had to pay attention to sounds, check the oil constantly, didnt have a gas gauge so I had to keep in mind constantly how far and where I was going. The little car had no air conditioning except windows down lol, no heat, no window defroster, no gauges, etc. Not having all of these things helped me become a more responsible and independent female...but that isnt my point. I loved and still love that little beetle. I also appreciate modern technology, air conditioning, gauges, etc of course lol. But my point is, I helped work on taking another VW motor out today and put it back in the rail buggy today. It had been a while since VWs really crossed my mind. It still amazes me that it only takes 4 bolts to take out a motor. All other cars and motors are so complex. Such simple little cars vintage Volkswagens are, but what a huge difference they have and always will make in my life, and I have met lifelong friends who share in that love for them as well. I simply love those cars. I wish more things in life were as simple, as 4 little bolts
