Ive been following the case of young 11-year old Herman Engelbrecht from Springs, beaten and abused by his father along with his four siblings. How is it that for years these five children were hidden from the world, not allowed to leave the house, even attend school - how did the neighbours not know? The mother was allegedly equally abused, yet the neighbours testify that they often saw the couple, and they appeared well-dressed - nobody suspected that they had children. Where were these children born? The father is apparently a businessman - so he worked during the day. Where was the mother? How could she allow this to happen?
