Ive been having flashes of this film all day, Midnight Express, one of My favorite films age 10, havent seen it since! Id watch it over and over again, and was always filled with so much emotion and today i remembered the moment that he STOPPED following the crowd around the light, just after his girlfriend came to visit him and i will never forget that scene of how the sight of his womans breasts overwhelmed him with desire and pain, showing him the desperation of his plight, enough PAIN for him to MAKE THE CHANGE although he thought it was impossible to RISE UP he did! he went against the flow STOOD UP risked his life and then found freedom, the scene, as they walk around the light & he purposely went in the opposite direction, how all the other zombies inmates FREAKED OUT at him, thats what its like walking with humans that believe we cant CHANGE the world when all it takes is to decide we CAN even at the risk of dying we MUST as in PLATOs cave their comes a time we must be responsible in finding our FREEDOM from 1hr 38mins on ....
