Ive been in barriere for almost 8 years now, and almost every year Ive sat at home and played video games, untill I found out about the bike track behind af foods around 2 years ago. This is the only thing thats keeping me from wanting to move, I honestly dont blame parents for not wanting there children to live here, the school programs are fine, but what about after school and during summers, the only things the teens have in this town to be proud of is our bike track, with limited supplies and money, weve managed to get a few truck loads of dirt. We cant even afford a proper bench to sit on, we have two trash cans, ones a small recycling bin and the other has no bottom. If you go look and see how clean and how much work has been put into it with not even getting money to get a new barrel to get dirt from one place to another. I dont wanna live here and be ashamed that the town doesnt bother to care about the teens, and the one place that has power and lights the bandshell were not alloud on past 9:30 we do have lights at the track, with no power for it, we find local riders to bring there generators down for a light up all Im asking the town is to at least help the teens get one thing to be happy for in this town that we can hang out and everyone can be accepted, no one gets kicked out of the track unless theyre not accepting of everyone and not being polite. This is one place all the kids feel safe to go to, town, please dont screw this up.
