Ive been thinking about my buddies Mat Burkett Steve Abney and Dennis Gossard this morning as they run the Army 10 mile. Each one of them have trained hard for this event and prepared their bodies for a physical demanding race. I know Bro Steve has set a goal to lower his weight and get himself mentally to a state of mind to run 10 miles. I couldnt be more proud of these men and to say I know them and worship God with them. It is amazing to see what God has done in their lives. We know that at the end of this race they will receive a medal or some kind of reward for their partaking in this race. I know that it will mean so much to them and they will never forget this day. I also know that more importantly that they are going to receive the ultimate prize for the race they are enduring for the Kingdom of God. They will receive the gift of eternal life in Heaven.( Romans 6:23 ) No matter their time in this race today or how they finish we are in a more important race. We all are in a race till the end and God has set the pace and made a path for us. I cant wait till the day I complete the race and hear job well done my faithful servant. Never forget no matter what you may encounter here on earth God has place you in a important race for His Kingdom it is up to you how you finish the race. Im proud of you guys love yall. 1 Corinthians 9:25-27 25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. 26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
