Ive finished Game of Thrones 1-3 seasons and began watching the 4th. 1. Joffrey is so detestable that I like him. And Jack Gleeson, the actor who played him, is simply brilliant. 2. My favourite character is not Tyrion, but Bran and Hodor. The chemistry between the strong yet simple-minded man and the smart yet crippled boy is almost Shakespearean. Remember mad Tom leading blinded Gloucester in King Lear? After all, Tis a times plague when madman leads the blind. 3. Charles Dance as Tywin Lannister is one of the most perfect casting in history. 4. Speaking of the Lannisters, the name reminds me strongly of the house of Lancaster, the English royal dynasty founded by John of Gaunt, who was one of the most richest man in world history. His son, Henry Bollingbroke dethroned King Richard II and became King Henry IV. His son and successor, Henry V, resumed the Hundred Years War and triumphed over France. Powerful a monarch he was, but his son was still a young boy when he succeeded the throne as King Henry VI. He was murdered during the civil war in which the House of York claimed their right to the throne against the Lancasters; the Wars of the Roses. The Yorks won the war, and the familys eldest surviving son became King Edward IV. He was succeeded by his son who became King Edward V. But soon he was replaced by his uncle(Edward IVs brother), Richard of Gloucester who then became King Richard III. The dethroned king, along with his younger brother, were sent to the Tower of London and murdered. Richard III was killed in the Battle of Bosworth by Henry Tudor, the descendant of John of Gaunt, the aforesaid founder of the house of Lancasters. He became King Henry VII, opening the new era of Tudor dynasty, putting an end to the family feud by marrying Richard IIIs niece(Edward Vs sister), Elizabeth. Isnt this game of thrones more exciting than the show itself?
