Ive never really been into celebrating Halloween that much, nor am I into the whole zombie thing. But I have to admit, this event has really grown on me over the past few years. The fact that it brings thousands of people into our downtown is excellent for our business community. Is the event family-friendly? Probably not. Considering the fact that the vast majority of our other events are something that I would bring my 8 year-old son to, I am perfectly okay with that. For those who are concerned about the theme, I have noticed that more and more attendees are dressing in non-zombie costumes. (There are several pictures on my page from last years event that illustrate this point.) Now that this event has become more established, I believe that we should be able to command a higher ticket price and attract more sponsorships in order to help offset the cost. I dont think that this would necessarily work for some other City events, but I do believe that it could potentially work for this one.
