Ive often wondered what the true definition of friend truly means. I have determined there is not just one definition. I realize everyone has there own definition of the word friend. I realize not everyone has the same expectations that I have. I choose to hold high standards to the definition of friendship. I believe first and foremost, friendships should not be one sided. Like any other relationship it takes two to have a friendship. I believe in making time for my friends. No matter how busy life gets my friends are blessings in my life. A friend is someone you can trust , someone who has your back. A friend is someone who gives and expects nothing in return because they know that sooner or later you will do the same for them. I realize friends come and go. Like chapters in a book. Some are there through out your story and some are there for only chapters. I feel I deserve to be treated with kindness, loyalty and love. I treat others as I want to be treated. If I offend a friend in any way I will make it right and say I am sorry. I would never say or do something intentionally to hurt a friend. That is not my heart. I wear my heart on my sleeve . Something my mother always said . I dont wear a suit of armor. I am open and vulnerable. All I know is that if you have me for your friend you have me in your story. If you dont your missing out on a special person who has a very big heart. Life is to short to waste your time on those who have no time for you. If I can count on one hand my true friends, I am richly blessed.
