Ive said it before, the best commentator in tennis is former number one Jim Courier. During a Raffa Nadal match he used a split screen to show how Raffa last year was able to extend his back and then serve,,this year when he tosses the ball up he cannot arches back as much as before. So what is the reason ? Three weeks ago Raffa injured his back at the Australian open. As we stated before the nature of the injury is a bone moving forward. In this case Raffa s low back bone slipped forward toward his belly button. As I stated in my last post the therapist incorrectly laid him facedown and stuck his elbow in his low back forcing the bone even further forward. Now when Nadal goes to extend his back he cannot because His low back bones are already stuck in a forward position. What most therapists , chiropractors, medical doctors do in this situation is lay the patient on their side and rotate the bones left or right. This will not help him because the problem that hes experiencing is actually that the bones have gone forward. What he needs to have is specific bones of his spine moved Backward into their original position before the injury. This will allow him to extend his low back and eliminate his pain. Unfortunately not many people Understand this concept and less people know how to actually perform the maneuver. This is the reason why athletes over time overtime begin to fall apart as they age as more and more bones get pushed in a forward position and they have an inability to extend and stand upright. And it is not just athletes, this is why all of us overtime begin to stoop forward as we age. The problem is not that the bone is rotated, the problem is that we have a stair stepping effect of bones being stuck forward and no one ever pushing them back again into their pre-injury position. We may be seeing the early decline of a very great athlete.
