Ive said this before, but people have trouble with the concept. Raising the min wage beyond what the free market demands will only make things worse for the poor. Boost the wage too much, they no longer qualify for subsidies and tax credits. Employers pay for knowledge and skills. Thats what determines wages (Im speaking as a business owner myself) so the problem here is training and education, not money. We should be focusing on improving those programs, not paying people more SO THEY CAN STAY IN MEDIOCRE JOBS. What happened to encouraging people to aspire to greatness?
