Ive seen lots of posts and discussion about Black Friday is creeping into Thanksgiving and causing people to have to go to work on Thanksgiving. I dont disagree, but I think we might be missing the point. When we watch the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade - as fun as it is - its not coming off with volunteers, people are away from their families to provide us with fun and spirit. When we watch football games on TV, its not just the players that are there and not with their families, the janitors cleaning the bathrooms at the stadiums are required to work. When you forgot to get enough sour cream and run out to the 7-11 or local supermarket to pick it up - someones having to work for your convenience. And even if Black Friday stays on Friday - many people have to go to work on Thanksgiving day to get ready for it or even just to do crowd control for the people who are lining up weeks before. We have a lot to be thankful for on Thanksgiving on top of our families, etc.
