Ive spent close to 30 years sharing traditional knowledge about food and medicines with communities. During this time I have also spent close to the sane amount of time helping to build communities through engaging them in dialogues regarding the many issues that affect these intricate systems. I have done consultations with communities and involved my art practice on these matters. I have been traditionally educated as well as bring partially indoctrinated by the European academics. At what point does anyone have any right to question my ability to do a job that I have not only patiently awaited for more than a year to start working on, but also spent close to 8 months working out details that have been holding up this project due to bureaucratic processes out of my control? Now Im attempting to begin this project after carefully negociating several concerns of mine and there is attitude regarding my personal business and private life, resulting from someone who needs their who stroked over a minor detail. This job is minimum wage compared to what I usually get paid to half of what is expected of me. Its unbelieveable how something simple gets complicated over a simple issue.
