JAMAICA TOP NATION, HYDE WINDY ALL-TIME BEST, by Alfons Jcuk, EME News FORT DE FRANCE (FRA, Apr 21): The 43rd Carifta Games ended with Jamaican triumph with 88 medals (42-34-12) with Trinidad and Tobago second best 25 (6-7-12) and third Barbados 16 (5-5-6). Jamaica won three 4x400 m relays, junior girls 3:38.20, youth boys 3:12.63 and fast youth girls 3:37.65. Only junior boys was taken by Trinidad 3:06.02 ahead of Jamaica 3:07.71. In the 200 m finals again three golds for Jamaica. Junior boys Michael O´Hara 20.50 (+1.3) ahead of Jevaughn Minzie 20.56. Nataliah White clocked 23.36 (+0.9) to win youth girls and Chad Walker 20.99 (+2.3) topped youth boys. Only junior girls again for Trinidad Kayelle Clarke 23.10 (+2.3) beating Kadecia Baird of Guyana 23.13. In the hurdles French talent representing Guadeloupe Wilhelm Belocian achieved 13.23 (+1.6) and missed his European junior record from Rieti last year only by 0.05. Second Jamaican Tyler Mason 13.25. In the youth 110 m hurdles Jamaican Jaheel Hyde clocked faster time than 13.12 world youth best of Belocian but his 13.10 was aided by +2.2 (legal 13.32 +1.3 in heats).
