JEN & DAVES HOUSE CONCERTS ... Hi friends, Thanks to all of you who joined us for our recent sold-out house concert with The Chandler Travis Three-O. We still have tickets for our next show with Steve Katz on December 6, though we anticipate that the show will sell out in advance. Dont wait too long if youre interested. Tickets/info available through our website (linked at the very bottom of this email). Steve Katz Sat. Dec. 6, 8 pm (doors 7:30) Donation: $20 (100% goes to the artist) Steve Katz’s musical history is pretty astounding. Here’s a brief chronology: -Studied guitar with Dave Van Ronk and Rev. Gary Davis in the early ‘60s -Formed the Even Dozen Jug Band with John Sebastian, David Grisman and others (recorded one album for Elektra in 1964, Steve played washboard!) -Started The Blues Project with Al Kooper and others (recorded 3 albums for Verve, performed at Monterey Pop Festival) -Co-founded Blood, Sweat & Tears in 1967 (Steve played guitar on their first 5 albums, wrote and sang a handful of BST songs, won a few Grammys and played at Woodstock) -Produced 2 classic albums for Lou Reed in the early ‘70’s -Became an A&R executive and, later, a Vice President of Mercury Records before getting involved in traditional Irish music His memoir will be published in 2015. Steve’s performance will encompass folk, blues, storytelling and original songs.
