JESUS Our Great Physician -Were all sick and broken because of our sinful nature. -Physician: anyone skilled in the art of healing; one who heals; RAPHA in Hebrew (Jehovah-Rapha) -because were sinners, weve inherited spiritual, emotional, and psychological infirmities -were always in need of and should be in pursuit of our Great Physician, Jehovah-Rapha, Jesus the Healer JOHN 9 V.1-after Jesus had escaped from the Pharisees in John 8, he noticed a man on the road who was blind. Even as He was leaving His attackers, He compassionately paid attention to the man in need, who did not even call out to Him. -personal sin is not ALWAYS the cause of suffering (for example, Job!), for this man was BORN blind -God sometimes sovereignly causes pain/discomfort in our lives so that He can cause something greater to happen --> surgery, needles, chiropracters all put you through more pain and discomfort in order that the original pain and discomfort may be subsided -always look at what God is doing/can do through all the brokeness in your life V.6-Jesus used the same dirt He used to make man to heal man -He uses the very dirt were in to give the deliverance we need -How can we ever know we need to be healed and cleaned if we dont know our brokeness? V.7- our obedience will always proceed our healing and restoration -he told a blind man to go to a pool to be healed, and he went without excuse, and may have stumbled and been ridiculed on the way, but he went for it knowing his healing was there V.8- some ppl will disagree and downplay the healing in your life, but this gives more opportunity to speak of the glory of God and what He did -wherever His glory is proclaimed, seeds are planted WHOLISTIC WHOLENESS -He knows were broken and sick and wants us to be whole -the wholistic wholeness that Jesus desires looks like this: 1. Forgiveness and restoration from all sins 2.Spotlighting shadows in r lives so that we can be aware of it and pursue His help and follow His counsel (Hes the light of the world) 3. Freedom from sin and its bondage because of us abiding in His truth 4. Keeping life in keeping His words 5.Healing in following His prescription 6. A better focus of what to look for: what can God do/ is doing? 7. His tender care, providence and protection -takes a skilled Physician to point out areas that need healing, and prescribe the right remedy {ADMIN01}
