JOB PROFILE Job title: Fundraising Consultant Placement: Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso JOB PURPOSE BØRNEfondenand Christian Children’s Fund of Canada (CCFC) are seeking a full-time in-country Fundraising Consultant to be based in Burkina Faso in West Africa. The consultant would be responsible for the identification and effectively responding to funding opportunities from institutional, private sector foundations and corporations to enable both organizations acquire grants. These involve monitoring of donor landscape, assessing opportunities and leading the pre-award processes. The Fundraising Consultant will report to the Country Directors of BØRNEfonden andCCFC in Burkina Faso, and actively collaborate with Head Office grants acquisition teams of both organizations in Copenhagen, Denmark and Markham, Ontario, Canada respectively as required. Major responsibilities will include: acquisition of grants, contracts and contribution agreements to meet annual acquisition targets through presentation of concept notes and grant proposals in cooperation with country office staff; ensuring quality assurance to proposals and submissions; achieving goals of work plans with key deliverables; capacity building of in-country office staff toenhance their resource diversification skills, and strategies in project proposal development and submissions. Candidates must have substantial proven knowledge and experience in fundraising in the not-for-profit or charitable sector. Qualifications include: a minimum of 7 years’ experience including2 years experience in a senior advisory and executing role in fundraising; proven track record in submission and winning of grants; professional expertise in one or more of BØRNEfonden andCCFC’s key development sectors; degree in relevant development field (MBA or other post-graduate degree is an asset); experience working with institutional, public and private sector funders;excellent communication skills, comfortable in using computers and appropriate softwares for fundraising, and project management as well as ability to travel locally and internationally as required. Must be bilingual and be able to write and speak in English and French fluently.
