JUMI LEE [Laboratory] Born in South Korea, Jumi showed from a very early age musical skills. She was formed as a classical pianist from the age of 5 and after living her teens in Lima, made her debut as a Dj at 19. From that moment till today the phenomenon “Jumilee” as her countless fans call her, has grown considerably over the years. She is admired and respected by her talent, technique and good taste when mixing. As well, by her versatility to use different musical genres, according to what is required for the occasion. In the last years, she has played consistently in the most recognized venues in Lima and has participated for bigger crowds in numerous occasions in all local festivals such as: Creamfields, IMF and Limafest. Also has played gigs in Chile, Ecuador and Bolivia. She was a resident of Home Club from the year 2004. That same year, Jumi was mentioned by DJ Slacker in the edition of DJ MAG’s TOP 100 DJs, as best warmup DJ of the year. She has also played with the likes of, Steve Lawler, James Zabiela, Nick Warren, Desyn Masiello, Magda, Davide Squillace, Anja Schneider to name some. Her style is in permanent evolution, alternating currently between Tech House and Techno. In 2007, she released her first EP called Bass Machine , under the Eletrodomesticos label (BR), which received great support of DJ/Producers like John Acquaviva and Kosmas Epsilon. The remix also was included in the compilation CD Best Female DJs of the World. Jumi was chosen in 2008 and 2009 to be the image for the RadioJean campaign, for Saga Falabella. Also, she is sponsored by brands such as Nike, ROT and D.A.G. At the moment, she is the resident Dj for GLOW, where she is in charge of opening and occasionally closing for International Djs such as: Fatboy Slim, Mauro Picotto, Paco Osuna, Booka Shade, Christian Smith, Darren Emerson, Tocadisco, Alexi Delano, among others.
