Jack update: Jack had a rough week last week, traumatic for us all. On top of his pancreatitis, he developed an infection,diarrhea, anorexia and a fever of 106! He had to be hospitalized at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center over the weekend. They took very good care of him, giving him IV antibiotics, pain meds and anti-nausea meds. Through all this Jack had stopped eating so on Saturday they placed a Nasogastric feeding tube to support him nutritiously. Monday he came back to Crossroads Animal Hospital for us to take care of him. We fed him through his NG tube and gave him his meds. He rested comfortably all day. Overnight he ate all the canned food we left him on his own!! Today he seems to be a little more himself; eating on his own, helping clients check out at the front desk, climbing in boxes and yelling at the staff :) We sure hope he has overcome this traumatic week and is on his way back to the Jack we have all missed. Thank you all for your prayers and support. We all appreciate your kind words and thoughts of healing during this last week. We will continue to keep you posted on Jacks recovery!
