View Sign James Joseph Ryan Jr. 1947 - 2014 James Joseph Ryan Jr. was born in Chicago, IL on the 3rd of November 1947 to Evelyn Louise Eierman Ryan and James Joseph Ryan Sr. He passed this life on the 2nd of August 2014 at his home in Redding, CA with his wife at his side. He is survived by his wife Cecilia R. Ryan of Redding, stepchildren Marian Morgan-Hunt (Allan) of Bella Vista and John W. Morgan (Leslie) of Anderson, and grandchildren; Chloe Hunt, Paige Hunt, Sierra Hunt, Larissa Morgan and Gavin Morgan. James served as Photograph Interpreter with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of VFW Post 1934, American Legion Post 509 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 509. In civilian life he was a Photogrammetrist with several firms in the Silicon Valley. After retirement James enjoyed genealogy and traveling with his wife. They visited Ireland three times, and cruised Alaska and Mexico several times. They also made two trips to Washington DC. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Lawncrest Chapel, 1522 E. Cypress Ave, Redding, CA.
