January 2, 2015 Dear Friends and Family, As we all are beginning a fresh new year, I wanted to share a little of what God is leading me through in my life and what I feel He is leading me towards. In the past ten plus years I have struggled to trust that God knew what I was going through and that He has the best intentions for my life. I could feel his presence sometimes and feel his guidance sometimes, but I continued in faith to trust his lead and his provision. I look at each opportunity as a chance to be a servant leader and show the love of God to all I am in contact with. Even though God has always come through in amazing ways to see that I have what I need. I have never been on a mission trip before so, this summer I will be going on a church mission trip to the Dominican Republic from July 8 – 17 to serve in eight different churches within a 20-minute radius of Santiago as an ambassador of Christ by teaching, supporting, and being part of special evangelistic services each night, while I learn a lot about overseas mission in preparation for continued service. It has also been great to see that God has continually used imperfect people throughout history from Bible times until the present as I feel very inadequate to serve Him, but I know it is not me that people need to see, but God through me. So as I endeavor to take this step of faith this summer, I ask for your assurance of prayers for the following: a steadfast faith in God’s call on my life, faith in God’s providence as I have to give up part of a months income to take the time for the trip, and a passion for the people of the Dominican Republic that I meet and share with. I thank God for the opportunity to go on this first missions opportunity with a group of individuals from my church and other churches and learn from those who have been on overseas missions trips before. For our team from Greenville Free Methodist Church, nearly $20,000 is needed. If you feel led to help fund this trip make your check payable to Greenville Free Methodist Church or GFMC and put “GC15 Missions Trips” on the note line. Due to IRS rules, please do not put my name on the check; however, you can attach my name on an envelope or attached note. The church’s address is 1367 Illinois Route 140, Greenville, Illinois. Your donations will be tax deductible. Whether you support me with your prayers or financially, I thank you ahead for partnering with me in this opportunity. I will enjoy sharing highlights of this trip upon my return with each of you. With much love, Kimberly *This is a letter I will be posting to those who do not have facebook. Thanks for reading.
