JavaScript Developer - Real Time Market Monitors Job (London, GBR): Job Requisition Number:41267 The Role Bloomberg is looking for a dedicated and driven software developer to join the Real Time Market Monitors team. The Bloomberg Monitor and Worksheets suite of products is an essential part of Bloomberg Professional Service and is used by the vast majority of financial players that make up our client base. In its simplest form it�s a list of quotes, but can be customized with MS Excel-like formulas, or to pull in rich analytics, indicators & news either as raw data or through visualizations. The Bloomberg Monitor already sets the standard for the industry; your work will help to set newer, higher standards through improving the flexibility, usability and quality of the product and in turn impact hundreds of thousands of users. The successful candidate will: - Develop with Bloomberg�s latest proprietary technologies including client and server side JavaScript. (Bloomberg has one of the largest if not the JavaScript codebase in the world). - Be exposed to the full development lifecycle (including liaison with business sponsors/support teams). - Take ownership of key components. Required Skills - Experience coding JavaScript applications - Experience with the full software development lifecycle and agile - Comprehensive understanding of data structures, algorithms & complexity - Working knowledge of development tools such as debuggers, profilers and tracing utilities - Excellent problem solving and multitasking skills, with a logical and pragmatic attitude - Practical experience applying basic and composite design patterns Desirable Skills - Experience with C & C++ including STL - Experience with one or more CommonJS implementations - Scripting experience, e.g. Perl, Python or Korn/BASH shell - Experience working with databases and developing real-time systems - Project Management and/or Technical leadership in an enterprise environment - Knowledge of financial instruments particularly Equity and Fixed Income The Company Bloomberg, the global business and financial information and news leader, gives influential decision makers a critical edge by connecting them to a dynamic network of information, people and ideas.
