Jean Latka has been an artist since the fourth grade when she discovered he magic that transpired when she blended “Carnation Pin” with “Dandelion Yellow”. The “Sunset Orange” set her heart racing and the appreciation of color has been a driving force in her work ever since. Jean’s work focused on functional pottery for three decades before expanding her interest into fused glass. She joined Commonwheel in 1994. Along with here husband, Tom Latka, they are Latka Studios in Pueblo. They create a variety of art for cities through out the United States that encompass large sculptural pieces, glass atrium sculptures and murals. Come see Jean’s latest work at the Old Spokes Gallery show in Commonwheel Artists until May 12th.
