Jenn as a former employee, you had an unfair advantage, however you are right! Beryl In its pure form is clear, but when trace elements give the crystals colour, we get Emerald (deep green), Aquamarine light blue), Morganite (pink), Heliodor (golden), Goshenite (clear), and Green Beryl (light green). Essentially different colours of the same thing! Like ruby and sapphire are different colours of the same mineral (Al2O3), beryl comes in almost every colour including red! Minerals coloured by impurities are called allochromatic, and gems which derive their colour from essential elements in their structure are called idiochromatic. Happy Friday!!!!
