Jeremiah 10:23-24 O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps. O Lord, correct me, but with judgement; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing. Here Jeremiah prays to the Lord to direct his paths. Look at what he says. Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself. It is not within man to direct his own ways or his own steps. Proverbs 16:9 says that A mans heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps. The Lord directs his paths. We need to understand that we have to depend on the Lord to direct our steps and our paths. Remember Jesus tells us that straight is the gate and narrow is the way that leadeth to eternal life and few there be that find it, but broad is the way and wide is the gate that leads to destruction and many there be that find that way. Proverbs 16:25 tells us that there is a way that seemeth right unto man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. We cannot depend on our own ways or our own paths to get us there. We have to learn to dedicate ourselves and our lives to Jesus Christ and allow Him to be in control. The Lord will direct our steps if we will just learn to listen Trust in the Lord with all of our hearts, and lean not on our own understanding. He has a plan for our lives. He has a purpose for all of us. He tells us that it is not His will that any man should perish, but that all should come to repentance. James 4:7 tells us to Submit yourselves therefore to God, Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. We have to learn to focus on God and not look to the right or to the left, but as Paul tells us in Phillipians 3:14 press toward the mark of the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. God knows the plans that He has for us. He tells us in Jeremiah that He knows the plans that He has for us, plans to prosper us, and not to harm us. We just have to learn to follow Him. Remember as long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, he walked on the water!!!!!! It was only when he began to look at the storms that were around him and took his eyes of off Jesus that he began to sink. Let us get our eyes and our minds focused on Jesus and not be distracted. Our lives belong to Him, we are His. Remember He tells us that we are not our own, but we are bought with a price, and that price is the price of the blood of Jesus. We owe our lives to Him. Dont let Satan distract you from following Him. You cant do it on you own. Ask the Lord to day as Jeremiah did, to correct us with His judgements and lead us in the right ways!!!!!!!!! GOD BLESS YOU!!!!!!!!!!
