Jesus, You are all that I want. You are all that I need. Christ Is Sufficient For Me St. Paul had a painful thorn in his leg. He asked the Lord thrice to relieve him of the pain. Christ merely replied that His grace was sufficient for him. Christ is sufficient for us in everything and in all situations. We can go though all situations if we abide in Him because ‘Christ is all and in all’ (Colossians 3:11)’. ‘He is the image of the invisible God…all things were created through Him and for him…He is before all things, and in him all things hold together (Colossians 1:15-17). These lines clearly reveal the preeminence of Christ and we ‘share in His fullness in Him, who is the head of every principality and power’ (Colossians 2:10). Jesus baptizes us with the fire and strength of the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is the Presence of Christ in us. Christ lives in us and God’s promises are ‘Yes’ in Jesus, and our Amen. When we say ‘Amen’ we actually say Christ is sufficient for us because He has already said ‘Yes’ ‘for however many are the promises of God, their Yes is in Him; therefore, the Amen from us also goes through Him to God for glory’ (2 Corinthians 1:20). Regarding the painful thorn in the thigh of St. Paul, Christ explains: ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness’ (2 Corinthians 12:9). Let’s draw on His power in our weakness. If we are afflicted with some bondages or some sickness, let’s draw on His strength for in Him all things hold together.
