Job Announcement Roving Mechanics Duty station: Juba, with regular field visits Starting date: ASAP JOB CONTEXT: Solidarités International is an international humanitarian organization which provides aid and assistance to victims of war or natural disaster. For over 30 years the association has focused on meeting three vital needs – water, food and shelter – by carrying out emergency programmes followed by longer-term reconstruction projects. Solidarités International (SI) currently implements 2 kinds of programs in South Sudan: - Rural and semi-urban Wash activities in three states in the North East part of the country - Emergency Wash interventions in the camps welcoming Sudanese refugees in Upper Nile and Unity States (Yusuf Batil, Yida & Adjong). Mission: The roving mechanics is in charge of the running condition of vehicles and generators for all operational bases, diagnose problems, plan and carry out maintenance operations or repairs. Objective 1: Equipment, tools and spare parts management Create a catalogue and proceed to the inventory of parts and lubricants required for upkeep, maintenance and/or repair, and participate in preparing the quotes relevant to these parts. Identify suppliers and garages for the purchase of parts and consumables and for fulfilling external services/interventions. Assume responsibility for safety in and around vehicles, and of materials, parts (used or new) and lubricants used during his/her work Objective 2: Repairs/Maintenance Ensure that preventive planning are up to date and closely followed by the base logisticians Carry out maintenance, upkeep and repair of vehicles and generators. Fill out the maintenance frequency chart after servicing In case of external intervention, draw up a diagnosis, carry out any follow-up repairs, test the repaired material and recover any used parts Requirements: Diploma in mechanical engineering ; degree is a plus 3 years experienced required as a mechanics (any type of engine, vehicles, generators, motorcycle) Previous experiences as a mechanics within a NGO is a plus Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking) Computer skills is mandatory Electronics skills is a plus Flexibility and adaptability to changing work environment and possible volatile security situation Under the supervision of: Logistic Coordinator Contract: fixed-term contract of 6 months, with Possibility of renewal Working hours: From Monday to Friday 8:30-17:30. As an executive job, some flexibility can be expected from the employee.
