Job Description Structured Communication Systems, Inc., a leading systems integrator, has an immediate opening for a Senior Networking/Security Engineer in Warrenville, Illinois. The ideal candidate will have an exceptional technical background and extensive experience in complex, heterogeneous networking environments. Candidates must have experience in successfully executing all technical components of an enterprise sales and delivery cycle. These components include architecting complex solutions, providing demonstrations and presentations, leading technical discussions, developing product customizations, planning and executing customer proof of concepts, providing product training and support, and leading rapid deployment efforts. PRIMARY DUTIES Work with clients to develop scalable network/security designs, solutions and policy recommendations. Research, evaluate and recommend the selection of network/security related tools and emerging technologies for clients. Support and lead implementation of architected solutions in client networks. Assist sales staff with pre-sales technical support. Document designs and scope projects in a clear, concise and accurate manner. REQUIREMENTS Minimum 7 years consulting or industry experience with networking, voice and security technologies Expert knowledge of TCP/IP Expert knowledge of the following routing protocols: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP Ability to quickly and independently troubleshoot OSPF, BGP and MPLS environments Expert Knowledge of WAN technologies including but not limited to: Opt-E-Man, T1, DS3, Frame Relay, ATM, MPLS, ISDN BRI and PRI Significant field experience with data networking and IP technologies including HSRP, VRRP, VPC, OTV, SLB, VLAN configuration, spanning-tree, access lists, etherchannel, NAT, 802.1q, 802.1x Significant field experience with Cisco routing and switching platforms including but not limited to: Catalyst 6500, 4500, 3750 series switches. Cisco 1800, 2800, 3800, 7200 and 7500 series routers. Cisco supervisor engines (sup720/sup32) Significant field experience with Cisco wireless products including WISM, WISM2, 5508, 4400 series controllers. Cisco 1250, 3500, 3600 AP’s. Experience with Cisco wireless management platforms WCS, NCS, and Prime Infrastructure. Significant field experience with the following Data Center switching products: Nexus 7000, Nexus 5k/2k, UCS Fabric Interconnects. Significant field experience and expert knowledge in Networking Security products including Juniper Firewalls, Cisco PIX, ASA and FWSM firewalls, Cisco IPS, MARS, and NAC security devices Intimate knowledge of load balancing (preferably with F5 products), high availablility and bandwidth optimization technologies Major vendor credentials are preferred. The SANS, CISSP or any of the Cisco Professional certifications such as the CCNP and CCIE are of particular interest Ability to communicate at all levels of an organization from end-user to senior management about both business and IT needs Experience translating business requirements into functional/technical specifications Excellent project management, project scoping, troubleshooting, problem resolution, documentation and customer management skills required Travel within the Chicago metropolitan area is required.
