Joe Greenleaf, this is for you; a very concise statement of the issue. On one side, the internet has been developed by people who have invested their capital (human and otherwise) to provide a service that others GREATLY value. One the other, we love it sooooo much that we think it appropriate to lobby our government to seize these assets and make the service more accessible. Theft is not magically transformed into some great social good simply by virtue of how badly we feel we NEED the service... Before you decide to steal one mans property for the greater good, remember that a Government powerful enough to give you everything you want is powerful enough to take everything you HAVE...
