John 11:3-4 AMP So the sisters sent to Him, saying, Lord, he whom You love [so well] is sick. When Jesus received the message, He said, This sickness is not to end in death; but [on the contrary] it is to honor God and to promote His glory, that the Son of God may be glorified through (by) it. Why is it that Christians believe the lie? Why do we believe that God has something to do with sickness and death? We must have quite the imagination to believe that God would make us suffer in sickness, then kill us. The devil must be laughing his butt off at us. Bad things happen to Christians and they blame God for it. Who started this ridiculous lie? Jesus, himself, said this: John 10:10 NIV The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. We must slap Jesus in the face every time we assign blame to a deadly sickness or early death. Jesus says, The devil comes to kill, but we say, No, you did, and we have to trust your plan. When are we going to assign blame to the one who causes the harm and tragedy in our lives? GOD HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT! Twelve years ago tomorrow, I watched this whole scenario play out in my life. My 40 year old brother was taken out by the devil. Cancer was the method chosen to do the deed. As I hopelessly watched the rise and fall of my brothers health, I thought that he couldnt die. God even healed my brother completely, but he chose to listen to a doctor and underwent radiation, which destroyed him. My brother was a new believer and was taught the same crap we all have learned; this sickness comes to teach us something, Gods Glory is in the sickness, it will be worth it all in the sweet by and by. He couldnt believe the healing when it came and...he died. Many close to him, even the pastor of the funeral, believed God took my brother. Not me. Satan took my brother out. I remember standing over his open casket and saying, I wish I could have done more. For twelve years, I have walked a path that makes me scream to you, STOP BLAMING GOD! HE LOVES YOU! In the passage above, it is not the sickness that is for God’s Glory, but the end. Notice how He says, This sickness will not END in death, but the end will honor God and the end will promote His Glory. Satan will always start it, but God will end it and turn it around for His Glory...if you can believe. John 11:23-25 NIV Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; Here is the root of the problem: Hosea 4:6 NIV My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. When we blame God, we show the devil and everyone else how stupid we are. It is time to stop taking everyones word for it, and start reading Gods Word for it. He will tell us the truth and He will make us into a devil destroying warriors. For twelve years I have had my nose in the Word of God learning from Him. I am steaming mad at the devil. He has stolen our family members and our loved ones. Satan has brought loss and pain to us and it is time to put him down under our feet. Pick up the Word and read it. You will be spitting nails and drinking gunpowder soup, enraged at all this loss, and God will empower you to stomp the devils dumb head!
