John 15:4 The reason we might be feeling dry, dissatisfied, confused and all these other uncomfortable feelings could be that we are disconnected from the true vine. The true vine being Christ who overflows with life and all that is good. Perhaps we got too busy with our own little plans and forgot to keep walking in His. Maybe we valued what He gave us the last time more than Him, loving His hands more than His heart. Or it could be that something else appearing more pleasing came along while we were walking with Him and got deceived enough to let go of His hand and follow the false illusion. We didn’t stay connected. In the verse above, He says ‘Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me’. If we want to bear His fruit continually, we must undoubtedly abide in Him. To abide means to remain – continually so. It is not periodical. We do not pass by Jesus but we stay forever and dwell in Him – that’s if we want to continually bear His fruits. I’m encouraging you tonight to stay connected to Christ. Yield yourself unto Him and see His goodness in your life. Be Blessed!
