We ended up having an impromptu chat about a few bits and pieces. This one guy (who I don’t know) said something that caught my ear. He was alleging that this so called ANC-KZN 20 year plan is a true and present reality and that the implementation thereof is already underway. Some of the things he said sounded a bit rich, but 2 of his remarks I found quite telling. The fact that President Zuma didn’t go to Marikana is about the hostility he fears from the predominantly Xhosa speaking workers from the Eastern Cape. But I dropped my fork when he said the firing of Thobile Ntola and Zwelinzima Vavi is part of the plan and just the beginning of the Zulus dealing with Xhosa speaking people which they view to be a threat to the 20-year plan. What is worrying me is that people are making similar remarks, albeit in a different context, even here on facebook. Now please, don’t come down on me like a ton of bricks and call me names, but let’s try to understand this. Today our rainbow nation, black and white, is all united in 1 stadium, doing so in the name of the biggest peace-maker in modern history. We just saw Bafana won and I hope the Springboks will follow suit. And while all these wonderfull things are happening at the FNB stadium, this dude is telling me our State President is busy with some low-key tribal cleansing scheme on the sideline. What the f…k?
