Join me in prayer this morning for our servicemen and women who may be stationed in some difficult and dangerous circumstances. Father God, we hold our precious sons and daughters up to you this morning and commit them to Your care. We speak a Psalm 91 covering over them as they defend and protect our nation. Bless them for their efforts to root out terrorism wherever its found...they are our peacemakers and we believe they will see You just as Jesus said in the sermon on the mount. Protect them to and from, and shield them from dangers seen and unseen. Give them eagles eyes to see from a higher vantage point. Help them to lie down to sweet and refreshing sleep. Surround them, we pray, with an angelic host; and when necessary, open their eyes to see that the Lords company of warrior angels is marching alongside them. We pray that, whenever they must encounter difficult decisions, that you will give them the wisdom of Solomon to discern what must be done. If they must take out terror cells, we ask You to protect innocent civilians. We plead the blood of Jesus over the portals of their minds, so that they can be effective but still keep a tender heart. David was a man of battle, but his spirit of gentleness and praise made him a man after Gods own heart. Put up a shield in their souls to keep their hearts innocent and un-jaded. May they return home safely without PTSD or any other disabling issues. We rebuke spirits of depression, nightmares, flashbacks, and anxiety in the name of Jesus. We also pray that, as they defend us, You will set a guard around their families, and that they will feel great peace knowing that their spouses, parents, and children are in safe keeping. Please order their steps. May those who dont yet know You be placed alongside Your servants who will lead them to You. May not one soul be lost among them. Give the commanders and leaders great wisdom on how to complete objectives without any unnecessary loss of life and limb...our troops are not killing machines and we pray that they will neither cause nor have any unnecessary casualties. Bring our heroes home safely on Your perfect timetable, home to healthy homes and home to churches where they can worship You and give thanks for Your protection and provision. May they all return with the testimony, if it had not been for the Lord on our side. We ask these things in Jesus name, and we thank You for the many Youve already kept.
