Judging by the cover, Steve Jobs*, by Walter Isaacson, must be about Steve Jobs. In truth, there is so much more in it to offer. ( *: Stupid FB or I cannot seem to italicize this.) Having decided to start reading it from the chapter Forty-one, I have already discovered the key to my happiness: being simple, that is, being integrated, but not fragmented. In Chapter Forty-two, Isaacson writes: “[Steve Jobs] got hives, or worse, when contemplating great Apple software running on another company’s crappy hardware, and he likewise was allergic to the thought of unapproved apps or content polluting the perfection of an Apple device. This ability to integrate hardware and software and content into one unified system enabled him to impose simplicity.” In Chapter Forty-one, Isaacson quotes Steve Jobs’ wife Laurene: “One of the big issues in the health care industry is the lack of caseworkers or advocates that are the quarterback of each team.” My points: what she said is still true, even though America is proud of, and would financially reward, our specialists; also, multi-tasting is almost required in anyone’s life, but protecting one’s simplicity (by being minimally fragmented) will naturally lead to happiness.
