Julius Caesar, one of histories most disparaged figures, yet, in truth, the greatest General to have walked the Earth both in accomplishment and skill. He epitomized the brotherhood, he fought with his men, he slept in tents with his men; most of the glorifying of Caesar comes down to Hollywood and history twisters. He was never adorned with gold and didnt live in luxury. The spirit of Caesar in his camps with the Legion was almost unrivaled in history had it not been the Knights and some of todays Forces. They drank, they celebrated, they mourned, they built large megastructures; these guys were truly a band of brothers, and Caesar is in truth the first man in history to epitomize that as a person and promote it. No one wanted to go home to their wives, neither did they care for female company, and neither were they gay, the spirit amongst them as an Army was unbelievable. At times they literally looked for reasons to find new territory and go to war (acceptable practice in that day; justified when doing so to drive an enemy trying to get into Roman Territory), not saying Romans were always innocent though. They did this because they enjoyed each others company, there was trust, loyalty, they were inseparable. Now today there are also females in our Military, and this spirit should be amongst them too were applicable. But as for those days there were no women in the Army hence why brotherhood is emphasized.
