Just a little plea from me with regards to orders – if you ever need to cancel an order, or find that you’re unable to go ahead as planned, whatever the reason, please don’t be afraid to tell me. I completely understand that circumstances and needs can change; sometimes your order comes just at the wrong moment when you’ve had to kit the children out with new school shoes or the boiler goes bang. Sometimes we haven’t quite juggled our accounts enough and find that actually we just haven’t got the money – I completely understand and I would never have a problem with an order needing to be cancelled. But please, please, let me know as soon as possible. Even if it’s when I send the invoice through and it’s more than you realised it was going to be, don’t panic, just let me know and we can cancel or move your order and the spaces can be offered to others who are waiting on the cancellation list. The sooner you tell me the better as it gives me time to offer those spaces up. If you don’t tell me I have to spend hours that I really don’t have time for sending emails and reminders and trying to find out where I stand. I wouldn’t want to just cancel something without being sure that this is what you want. It’s very hard when I spend a long time discussing orders details and then have to chase payment only to be told at the last minute that the order’s not needed, or even worse, completely ignored. I am self employed, this little business is my full time job, and the invoices that I send are my wages. If orders are not paid for then that comes directly out of my earnings meaning my wages will reduce each time an order isn’t paid for. I only have a small profit margin so by the time you take off the cost of supplies, fees and so on there’s really only a small amount left, every penny really does count. I don’t mean to sound rude or harsh and this certainly isn’t a moan – just a polite plea from me. Just please, if you need to cancel an order, for any reason at all, please do just let me know at the very earliest opportunity that you can, I really would appreciate it so much and I know that customers who are keeping their fingers crossed on the cancellation list would do too.
