Just a small calculation for the Statue: 200,00,00,000 INR = 2,000,000,000 = 2 Billion INR. An average school teacher being payed (on the higher side for rural India standards) 25,000/- per month. We would have gotten (2x10^9)/(25x10^3) = 200x10^4/25= 80,000 teachers for a month. Thats approximately ~6,666 teacher for a FULL year, each teacher affects approx (lower estimate) 30 students, which approximates to 6,666*30 = 200,000 students for a year ! The same amount could have been used to teach students for a FULL YEAR ! Which is a wiser investment for the future of the country and which expenditure would have our freedom fighters preferred had they been alive ?
