Just finished doing a bit in the garden. I remember both my Mum & Dad liked the garden but seemed to have different rules. My Mum rule was to wait for my Dad to go out usually to the caravan and then go to the local nursery and then put as much as you can in the garden and when my Dad was back there was nothing he could do if he noticed. My Dad was sort of the opposite ie when my mum went out, usually to see her mum or to go for a trip with my Auntie Susie my Dads rule was to get rid of as much as possible. He would be subtle first ie start with areas of the garden you could not really see from the kitchen and when my Mum eventually noticed there was nothing she could do. This went on for years and it only stopped when their health changed. I have just made my own rule that is anything that is taller than me is cut down or at least have one of my hair cuts. I have started but there is a couple of massive fir trees so I am not sure how I am going to deal with them.
