Just got back from Portland to see my cousin get married - TopicsExpress

Just got back from Portland to see my cousin get married (congrats, Kara and Jason!). I spotted these images from the plane with my Samsung S4 over the western U.S. of a lone mountain, and the other, of a few valleys. Among the flights highlights (other than the amazing views) -- sitting next to an older English gentleman with a very cool, distinct accent. I usually avoid small talk, but something clicked. We talked about a lot of things, and we exchanged many a compliment for each others cultures and nations. One of his more striking compliments -- how amazing that in only a few hundred years wed accomplished whats taken others thousands of years. As well, that the U.S. is the most trusted world partner -- beyond many who are a rock throw away in distance. Several times, he affirmed a sense of family between our two countries, despite a few spats. Its always great to hear the fresh perspective of others on the outside - good or bad, whether its about a nation, an organization, or an individual. What I remember being left with was, you have a wonderful place here in The States. Take care of it and DONT let anyone take it from you. Welcome to Indiana and the U.S., good British friend.
