Just got back home from St. Maarten and it’s been an adventure - TopicsExpress

Just got back home from St. Maarten and it’s been an adventure and not on the island, but in the airport. Travel tip: Do NOT EVER fly Spirit Airlines! No airline should ever have to apologize more than twice in one day. When this happens it falls upon deaf ears. They obviously don’t value their customers and if you think apologizing will do the trick, you’re sadly mistaken! It actually comes across as insulting and condescending. Spending an excessive amount of time in the airport is not how I desired to spend my vacation. I do not want every leg of my flight to have a delay. Ummmmm…..…delays consisting of 6 hours or more are not acceptable! Houston we have a problem when over 50% of Spirit flights are delayed. Did I mention that they were kind enough to offer the passengers a $50 voucher for the inconvenience? To be used on a future flight of course. Ha……like that is ever going to happen! Since I purchased a seat on the aircraft, I should not have to pay to sit in it. Charging customers around $15 to select a seat after they’ve purchased a ticket is ridiculous! ALL seats should recline PERIOD! By observation, I guess leaning your head forward on the seat in front you is the appropriate way to sleep when you’re packed into a non-reclining, no aisle room seat. Smh Thin padding on the seats where I can feel the passenger’s knees behind me digging in my back is not very comfortable. But then again, I can’t blame them because the seats are so close where else are they going to put their legs? Charging $2.00 for a can of soda and $3.00 for a bottle of water is outrageous! Spirit Airlines also charge for carry-on luggage? Really? Wow, I can’t believe I actually had to wait 1 ½ hours just to get my luggage from baggage claim. Oh, yet again it came with an apology……...yeah right!!!! It seems like all the customers that I spoke with were first time flyers on Spirit so they had no idea. Hmmmmmm that explains it! Well they won’t get me again! If you didn’t already know, now you do. However, if you were aware of Spirit Airlines’ practices, why didn’t anyone tell me? Lol
