Just had a wonderful walk in downtown Waxhaw with little Ava. Such a beautiful festive time of year to walk along the old fashion downtown area. Love to stroll into the little stores and enjoy the richly filled old time consignment shops filled with reminders of the past. Ava and I had such fun ohhhing and ahhhing at the sights. Last stop was the local Provisions store to get fresh and natural nuts and seeds, dark chocolate covered almonds, popcorn kernals, molasses, spices and more. I just love our new town we live in ... its been a little over a year... a wonderful new home as we work to rebuild our lives. Ellie will have been gone for now 5 Christmas seasons (gained her wings June 23, 2010) - so desperately missed at this time of year. Yet, looking for our blessings and focusing my heart not on our losses, but what God has provided us after such tragedy and when all was literally swept away from us. Thankful to find a place to call home ...that you can find people who go a bit slower and take the time to talk with you. Making memories is seeing Ava cheers as the train choo choos down the track toward us. Her precious smile as it blew its friendly whistle and roared on by us in the center of town. I love simple. Simple is the best.
