Just how good is the Alabama Defensive Secondary? Thats a good question Charlie... We know the offense can click, when they do what is expected of them with no turnovers and penalties. Lane Kiffin has turned the Crimson Tide offense into an absolute screaming banshee, when all cylinders are firing, its truly frightening. I would like to jump on the bandwagon of were back however I want to see how the Crimson Tide do against the Vols and Tigers in the next two games. I realize both programs are struggling, however this is the SEC West, were in the meat of the schedule, and crazy is definitely being stirred into the Witches Brew that is October. This is the hardest part of the stretch in the schedule and Mississippi State/Auburn still hide in the shadows waiting for their turn in Tuscaloosa. Coach Saban, Kiffin, and Smart put together game plans that hold the spirit expressed in the last two games through the next 4 games, its at that point Danny Kanells head will explode, and you should go ahead with travel plans post season. HOWEVER, Im not saying a damn word until the clock reads 00:00 at the end of the Iron Bowl. This defense had its best game all season against Kenny Trill is Gone Hill holding the Aggies to 141 passing yards and racking up 6 sacks, you read that right SIX sacks. So far this season Alabama has 19 sacks, 10 of those sacks coming in the last 2 games. For the record, 12 different players have had at least one sack on the year, TWELVE!!! Xzavier Dickson leads with 5.5 sacks, followed by Denzel Devall, Ryan Anderson, Tim Williams, and Rashaan Evans. With Tennessee voicing the possibility of running two quarterbacks, the Crimson Tides secondary need to accomplish exactly what Landon Collins said: If the quarterback doesnt have time to throw the ball then they cant complete any passes. We know that our D-line is going to get there and we just have to guard our receivers for two or three seconds and thatll be it. Thatll be it, you betcha! Roll Tide! ~Charlie
