He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing. In my study Bible, I have the following commentary: This passage that is written for the Daughter of Zion- Jerusalem (Zep 3:14) - is also written for us as Gods daughters. When we come through times of pain or shame, God is there to rejoice over us. In fact, the mere thought of us brings a song to his lips! The Hebrew word translated singing can also mean shouting with joy or laughing cheerfully. Perhaps even more precious is the knowledge that God is there during difficult times- during the times we feel exiled from home, as are the people of Jerusalem in this passage. As a caring Father, God walks beside us, and his whispers of assurance ease our sorrows and quiet our fears. Write out an dmemorize Zephaniah 3:17. You Are Loved Book Excerpts: He formed us, gave us personality, knows our quirks, crafted our hair and eye color, our structure, our frame. Because we are His very own artwork, His design, He especially takes pleasure in us and understands us as no one else understands us. However, many of us spend our whole lives trying to earn the love of God because we think His love for us is based on works. We strive and work and fret in our Christian life to do Gods will. The Truth is, we cannot do the will of God until we know and experience the love of God. The more we look into His heart and see His love, the more transformed we will become by the peace of not having to work for our salvation and the humility that will come out of a desire of gratitude to share it with others who so desperately need to know His love. ________________________________________________ The first chapter of the You are Loved book is packed full of reminders of how much God really loves us. I feel great after reading it. Every woman wants to receive a love letter or be told how much she is loved. I feel like the scripture that we were asked to read and meditate on is just that.. a love letter to us. Julie taught me a really useful way to study and that is by adding your name into scripture. This morning, add your name in this scripture and know that God is speaking to all of us. (Your Name), The Lord your God is with you, He is might to save. He will take great delight in you, (Your Name) He will quiet you with his love, He will rejoice over you with singing. As your busy mind stirs of all that needs to be accomplished today, take a moment to let your heart and mind be quieted by his love. What a peaceful way to start the day.
