Just joined the group, thought Id say hello. Ive been driving this 1985 1.6 na Jetta for ten years. Not stopping anytime soon. 241k on it now (40,000 on a rebuilt block, .040 over). Practical, solid veggie oil system. At this point I practically know this car inside and out. Its still fun to drive and hasnt given me any grief since the rebuild. Next projects: - delete AC (using fatmobiles tutorial on vwdieselparts forum. - upgrade to 14 wheels - replace broken handles, headliner, fix sunroof (replace?) - repaint (quick job scuff up paint, fill scratches/chips, maaco (ugh)) Always happy to share my experiences with the rebuild and repairs. And will likely seek advice as issues come up. Til then, hey!
