Just need to blow off some steam...really upset about a purchase I made 6 years ago, a Maytag refrigerator. I usually buy Kenmore products because Sears backs their appliances/products, (thats what Ive experienced), even after the warranty has expired! I was urged to buy a Maytag refrigerator because it was deemed a superior product with a superior ice-making machine! :( Almost one year to the date of purchase, the ice-making machine broke...I called Maytag and they said so sorry, but your warranty is up and there was nothing they could do! :( Almost three years to the date of purchase our freezer section started over-freezing and the coils were encrusted with ice...five years ago, the refrigerator section quit cooling, and its coils were encrusted with ice also...today, right after I went grocery shopping,(naturally) the damn thing went totally kaput!!! I was under the impression Maytag produced superior products/appliances ~~ remember the commercials where the service repairman has nothing to do all day and is bored silly because Maytag appliances NEVER break down or need repairs! BULL...this was a huge mistake on my part...a very expensive mistake...6 years after purchase, this refrigerator is belly up!! I am more than mad! I wish with all my heart, I had purchased a Kenmore refrigerator...the one we had previously, was an old work horse, and NEVER gave us one problem...its only sin... did not have an ice-maker !!! This IS NOT a pitch for our friend, Bob Diaz, a Sears Manager, BUT I can honestly say when you buy a Kenmore appliance, Sears will back you and your purchase 100%... (y) No, I correct myself, 200%!! :)
