Just need to send a shout out to my Mom today. She had to let another fledgling fly yesterday (after raising 8 of her own!!!). She had taken my special needs niece in to her home during a very stormy period of both of their lives. My Mom was losing her daughter and my niece losing her mother. Carrie wasnt dealing well with any of the changes thrust upon her, but my Mom, who is very determined was able to find Carrie the help she needed at Behavioral Health. She worked with social workers to enroll Carrie in school which also found Carrie employment and connected her to social programs and therapy. My Mom, along with my Aunts, have turned Carries world around!!! She is no longer the shy, introverted, emotionally and socially stunted girl she was 6 years ago. She has been transformed into a mature young woman, living in a gorgeous group type home and is very excited about it! Even though her physical health is being challenged right now, I have never seen Carrie this happy and she has her Gram to thank for it! Bittersweet for my Mom, but she should be so proud seeing Carrie walk out her door this independent confident woman! ♡♡♡
