Just read news on Tamil diaspora dominated Facebook web forum about a statement allegedly comes from Americas ambassador to Sri Lanka. According to the statement, the US ambassador blames all the Sinhalese for the recent violence against Muslims of the southern Sri Lanka. What is most surprised me is that the US ambassador says that Sinhalese people are uncivilized people because they attacked Muslims. I should truly appreciate the US ambassador s concern over my own community. But describing the entire Sinhalese people as uncivilized people like saying all Americans were and are bloody war lovers and uncivilized because their government had bombed Iraq and thus contributed to the killings of 1.5millions Iraqis. Its also saying like the entire white Americans were and are racists because of white political establishment s enslavement of black people, systematic segregation of black people and continuing racism against black people even in our time. The point is that if the statement came from the US ambassador to Sri Lanka over recent violence against my community, its purely wrong because you cant blame the entire Sinhalese for the crime committed by stupid Buddhist monks and their supporters.
