Just saw the Albuquerque video. One of the most disturbing things - TopicsExpress

Just saw the Albuquerque video. One of the most disturbing things I’ve ever seen in my life and not for oversensitive or the faint of heart — a bunch of men with badges committing premeditated murder of an unarmed person for alleged illegal camping. Those cops knew damned well the guy was not going to try to hurt them, and could not possibly do so. I am not sure how I am going to sleep tonight. I called the Albuquerque police non-emergency number and committed (on recording, stating my name and phone number) to call my federal representatives and DOJ to urge the investigation for first degree murder. There is no justification for this kind of conduct and if we consent to it in any way, tacitly or actively, that is inviting the supremacy of a police state. New Mexico recently repealed is death penalty; that is saying something about the values of the citizens and legislators in that state. Were there a death penalty on the books this would, though I oppose the death penalty in all cases, in my view as a potential juror, have to qualify as a capital offense. I believe that just as killing a police officer raises the stakes on a potential defendant, a police officer killing a citizen under color of law must be a special class of crime, if the person is found to have been unarmed. Every shooting must be treated as a homicide investigation so that cops know what they will go through if they pull the trigger. The number if you want to call and state your objection in conscience to what happened is (505) 242-2677. This is the NON-emergency number, not a 911 type number. Calls are recorded.
