Just so you know on Luisia: Prognosis: guarded to grave....severe dilation of the ventricles of her brain have compressed and obliterated all normal brain (cerebral tissue) leaving her with little to no functional brain tissue. So what she has is a midbrain, brain stem, compressed cerebellum but in theory no cerebral cortex. A milder form of this is a relatively common birth defect in humans about 1-2% but we have never seen or even heard of it in alpacas and we watch for this sort of thing.
