Just some food for thought. Im certainly in no position to judge - TopicsExpress

Just some food for thought. Im certainly in no position to judge anyone on this or any other issue, Im just kind of talking out loud and reasoning through this myself. We dont celebrate Halloween, however, there are subtle little things that are a part of our Fall routine that certainly give recognition to it. And Im convicted. Paul tells us in Galations 5:7-9, You were running a good race. Who cut in on you and kept you from obeying the truth? That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you. A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough. As I walk out my salvation, I wrestle more and more with things that are a routine in my life that Ive really never given much thought to. Things that, while they may seem harmless and innocent, actually wreak spiritual havoc in my life and faith. I do not want to be that legalistic, judgemental Christian, who nobody wants to be around. But, I do want to be that Christian, that because Ive considered things of and in this world and lined them up with the heart of God through His Word, draws others to a relationship with our living and loving Savior. On a cold day, everyone loves to warm up beside a toasty fire. There is a distinct contrast between the cold air and a fire. And people come near it to warm up because they dont want to be cold anymore. As a Christ follower, shouldnt there be such a contrast between how I live my life and how the world lives? And as a result, wouldnt others be drawn to the warmth of Christ living in me and want the source of that warmth in them? Hmmm. Again I say, Im convicted. I think I have no choice but to pay a whole lot more attention to those things in my life that may seem innocent, but have kept me from running a good race and may have hindered others in their race.
